2014

Can you believe I started this blog 10 YEARS AGO...ten years! Wow, lot's of things have happened in that time. I bought a house I've had ten different vehicles, I have 3 beautiful kids, I'm the program director and morning show host of the biggest station in New Mexico, I've been to a superbowl GO NINERS! I've grown up a lot, more than I could possibly imagine. I'm at a point in my life where the decisions I make are for the better good of my family. I gave up drinking last October, I eat right and I'm on the horizon of being healthier than I've been in the last ten years. I know that the things that mean the most you can't buy. I no longer compromise my success for the laziness of others. I am a GROWN ASS MAN! My son is remarkably smart, good at math, loves his WiiU, loves playing it with Mommy & Daddy. And, we love playing it with him, he's very compassionate, and always thinks of others. He is an amazing big brother! He loves his jitas so very much. He's created his own YouTube channel, he's a big fan of watching game cheats, adorable. He enjoys coming to the radio station with me after school, we talk about his daily drama at school, he's so independent, when kids treat him bad he moves on, he doesn't let it phase him, and I'm very proud of him for that. He is a born LEADER, and I know no matter what he does he's going to be great, much greater than me. I'm already so proud of him and he still lives with us, he's still a boy. My girls are amazing! Completely different and perfectly perfect. Sashi, LOVES being girl, she is never without her skirt and pretty shoes and a skip in her step. She loves to sing, draw and dance. She LOVES mommy time and shes is so smart. Kind of a crybaby, but I cannot help but grab her and give her big kisses. I love her pretty smile and the she loves to wrestle, she is so strong! She gets upset if she doesn't have a girl cup for her water and she is VERY sensitive to smell, she'll barf if it;s to strong. Kinda funny. Aaliyah is my cuddle bug, she loves to cuddle with daddy, loves kisses and I call her the leader of the pack, the protector. She doesn't let ANYBODY mess with her sister and even her big brother. She's my little tiger. She loves to get tickled, sing, she talks loud and listens well. She is very protective of her sister and if she is away from them for to long she worries and asks if they are ok. She has an AMAZING memory, she remembers EVERYTHING. She has a great vocabulary! Right now they LOVE watching the Lone Ranger, love seeing themselves ask questions wondering if they wrecked in the train, ask us to call the lone ranger because they miss him.. They love tonto and they think he is funny. As you can see, my life is so very blessed, I'm very lucky. I have so many other blessings that I haven't shared....yet. I hope that I come back to this blog and post more often. It's beyond thereaupetic. God Bless Carlos

Mail Bag: Should I get my parents approval before getting married?

Should I get my parents approval before getting married?
-Mandy Los Lunas, New Mexico Great question! Here's a few questions that came to mind when I read your e-mail. -Does their approval matter to you? -Do your parents like your man/lady? -Is it old fashioned? First, obviously you care about how your parents feel because you wouldn't be asking the question in the first place, right? Does age matter? How old are you? Now if you're a 17 year old girl waiting to marry your high school sweetheart, I think you absolutely should get their approval and that's assuming it's legal in your state. I also think that goes for anyone under 21, I really feel that you don't really know what you want at that ripe old age, now, I know some might disagree with me saying..."well, my grandparents have been married for 500 years blah, blah". Relationships and environmental factors are so different now, agree? Do your parents "like" him or her? Maybe you already know what the answer is if you do decided to ask your parents for permission. Is it a big fat "NO"? Maybe you should take this into consideration before saying "YES, YES I'll frikkin' marry you!!". As a fellow parent, in most cases I feel your parents genuinely want the best for you, should it be a deciding factor? Maybe not, but I do feel it's something to consider. Is it old fashioned? Absolutely! But, I do feel a blessing from your 'rents is a great way to kick off your fantabulous life with your future soul mate. It also shows a sign of respect and maturity. Hope that helps! Life...death

Blogging! I'm consistent at not being consistent! So I've had a lot on my mind. I recently got some really heartbreaking news about a guy (it felt like life hit me in the face with a 2 by 4) I've only met a few times but everytime we hung out it was time well spent aka good times. This great person is one of those people that light up the room everytime you see him. The type of person that made you laugh and was just an amazingly genuine person not to mention he is like family to my family if that makes any sense? Regardless to say, he was an amazing person and will be dearly missed by everyone. Death really opens your eyes to what really matters at least with me anyway (especially when its such a young life lost). At this very moment in my life I couldn't be anymore thankful to God. The fact that me and my family are healthy and we get to spend so much time to together is priceless. I'm making a commitment to you and to my family to be a better person and to live my life through God at its full potential...we only get one swing at this thing called life and I want to make sure its the best one I can live and do my best to make sure I love & live with all my heart...my heart goes out to Michaels amazing family. I pray they can find understanding in this tragic loss of an amazing human being friend and family member...I'm so very grateful for the moments I got to spend with him...
